For those that know me, one thing is very clear: My name is Marc and I am a ‘Deadhead.’ From an early age music really took me places, but when I was introduced to the music of the Grateful Dead in high school it expanded my musical horizons exponentially. Beyond influencing my musical takes, it influenced my life’s trajectory. So, when the remaining members of the band got back together for final shows this summer, it was a great way to say goodbye in grand fashion. But while saying goodbye, my wife pointed out, that in no way was this the end. As usual , she was right. Soon after the final shows, and in typical grateful dead fashion, they announced a new band filled with surprises.
I created this print to commemorate the new reformulated “dead and company” and their show on Halloween at Madison Square Garden, in New York City. One More Saturday Night Linocut Block Print. These prints are hand drawn, hand cut and hand pressed. Signed and Numbered edition if twenty. Note: The cemetery scene is actually a cemetery I photographed 25 years ago for a college project. It is an ancient burial ground located on the North Haven, Connecticut Town Green. Now available in my shop: http://marcguertincreative.bigcartel.com/product/one-more-saturday-night
